AMHERST BULLETIN: Barbara Brown Supports Mindy Domb in 3rd Hampshire
As a 26-year Amherst resident, I am pleased to support Mindy Domb’s campaign to be our next state representative in the 3rd Hampshire District.
In the late 1980s, I met Domb when we were both working in HIV/AIDS services in western Massachusetts. She was the regional coordinator for HIV testing and counseling. She created the Berkshire AIDS coalition and had numerous responsibilities, including prodivin the first jail-based HIV course in the state, fundraising for the coalition, and establishing an emergency assistance fund for individuals infected and affected by HIV/AIDS.
I remember Domb’s dedication, leadership skills and her ability to combine professionalism with compassion. Since then, she has continued to be a tireless advocate for service in our region.
Now, 30 years after working with Domb, I’m delighted that we have an opportunity to benefit from her experience, energy and commitment by electing her to be the state representative for the 3rd Hampshire District. From my experience as treasurer for the Ellen Story Committee for 12 years, I know Domb will bring the same level of integrity and commitment to the state representative position.
Throughout Domb’s career, she has demonstrated her ability to listen, problem solve, build strong networks, and be an effective leader. I believe she is the progressive Democrat we need for our district. I hope you will join me in voting for her in the Sept. 4 primary.
